About this Event
The Messenger’s Residence: A Limited Screening and Talk Back is a sacred evening of history, scholarship, and reflection held within the former residence of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. This special screening invites attendees into a deeper understanding of place, purpose, and preservation—where memory lives not only in archives, but in the very walls that bore witness to transformation.
Hosted at the historic Sajdah House, the evening will feature a guided screening followed by an intimate talk back led by Executive Producers Sajdah Muhammad, Archivist and Preservationist, and Dr. Leonard C. McKinnis II, Associate Professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Together, they will explore the cultural, intellectual, and spiritual significance of the residence and its continued relevance today.
This is more than a film experience—it is a moment of collective remembrance, dialogue, and alignment. Seating is limited. A reception will follow.
