🌟 About the Artists
🎤 Dr. Suma Roy – Vocals & Harmonium
Dr. Suma Roy is a distinguished vocalist and scholar of Rabindrasangeet, with a lifelong dedication to Bengali music. Trained from childhood, she later studied at Chhayanaut Sangeet Vidyayatan, Dhaka, where she also taught and worked under eminent mentors, including Dr. Sanjida Khatun, Laisa Ahmed Lisa, Aditi Mohsin, and Partha Sarathi Shikdar.
In 2002, she was admitted to Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, to study Rabindra Sangeet with honours and graduated with First Class distinction in 2005. She completed her Master’s degree in 2008 and subsequently pursued doctoral research on Tagore’s music under the supervision of Srimati Swastika Mukhopadhyay, earning her Ph.D. on a full ICCR scholarship. Her undergraduate studies were also supported by an ICCR scholarship.
In 2006, she received the ‘Uttam’ Grade in “Bengal Bikash – Srijonshil Bangla Gaaner Protiva Onneshon,” organised by Bengal Foundation.
Dr. Roy is a regular performer with Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television. Since 2010, she has been serving at Jatiyo Kobi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, where she is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Music.
🥁 Aniruddha Mukherjee – Tabla
A highly respected tabla artist, Aniruddha Mukherjee has accompanied leading vocalists and instrumentalists across India and abroad. Trained in the traditional gharana style, his playing combines rhythmic precision with soulful artistry, making him a sought-after accompanist in Bengali music circles.
🎹 Amith Dey – Keyboard
A versatile musician and arranger, Amith Dey is known for blending traditional Bengali compositions with contemporary textures. His expressive harmonies bring depth to both classical and modern performances, earning him a reputation as a sensitive and dynamic accompanist.
📖 Srestha Chatterjee – Poetry & Compere
