The Marquis de Lafayette was a French aristocrat who volunteered at his own expense to help the fledgling United States win her independence. Lafayette would join the staff of George Washington and serve with him during the early stages of the war at Brandywine, Barren Hill and Monmouth. In 1781, General Washington would give him command of the newly formed Light Infantry Division where he would take part in the campaign against General Benedict Arnold, General Phillips and ultimately Lord Cornwallis, that would finally end at Yorktown in October 1781. Join us as we discuss this pivotal campaign that would spell the beginning of the end of the American Revolution.
