The Marquis is Dead est le projet avant-gardiste du musicien multidisciplinaire bruxellois Dillon Steele. Connu pour sa fusion brute de métal industriel, de sonorités électroniques abrasives et de percussions artisanales, le projet marque une évolution radicale par rapport à son incarnation précédente, The Marquis.
Le premier album complet, Dark Age (2025, Antibody), propose un univers dense et groovy mêlant metal, sludge, noise, techno. Sur scène, Dillon Steele est rejoint par Reshma Goolamy (Neptunian Maximalism), formant un duo percutant qui relie l’underground électronique et l’avant-garde metal avec une intensité implacable.

The Marquis is Dead is het avant-gardistische project van de Brusselse multidisciplinaire muzikant Dillon Steele. Bekend om zijn rauwe mix van industriële klanken en ambachtelijke percussie, betekent het project een radicale evolutie ten opzichte van zijn vorige incarnatie, The Marquis.
Het eerste volledige album, ‘Dark Age’, biedt een dicht en groovy universum waarin metal, sludge, noise en techno worden gecombineerd. Op het podium wordt Steele vergezeld door Reshma Goolamy (Neptunian Maximalism), om zo een krachtig duo te vormen dat de elektronische underground en de avant-garde metal met een onverbiddelijke intensiteit met elkaar verbindt.
