Join us on 25th April at the Trinity Hall for The Makers’ Exchange – an Arts and Crafts Makers’ Market and Skills Fair. Be a part of the Aberdeenshire community in the heart of the city for a unique opportunity to discover hand-crafted art and products from local artisans while celebrating Erskine Veteran’s Charity’s 110th Anniversary!
At The Makers’ Exchange invites people of all ages, abilities and creativeness to come together and try out a new craft or discover a new hobby in a fun and hand-on environment.
Here is what our event includes:
- The Makers’ Market – art and hand-crafted products from independent local artisans
- The Makers’ Tombola – a prize draw for the chance to win goods, donated from our stall holders
- Free tea and coffee for all
- Selection of treats from our food vendors
- Erskine Exhibition – a chance to find out more about your veterans and the charity
- Veterans’ art display and sale
- Guided craft workshops to try out a craft, led by a professional
- Join demonstrations and talks about various arts and crafts to learn and inspire
- The Makers’ Corner to get crafty and leave some feedback
How to get involved?
Our tickets are live now to purchase general admission tickets from only £4! The Makers’ Exchange is open to the public and tickets can be purchased on the door as well. Join us at any time from 10am-3.30pm.

Morning Session Workshops
Info: We have three morning workshops taking place: Felting (£35pp), Pencil Drawing Skills (£5pp) and Kids Build-A-Bear(£35pp). All materials are included and led by a professional! A chance for people of all ages, abilities and creativeness to join a community event in the heart of the city where they can try out a new craft or discover a new hobby in our craft workshops. There are limited spaces so get your hands on them before they run out!

Afternoon Session Workshops
Info: We have four afternoon wrokshops taking place: Pencil Drawing Skills (£5pp), Crocheting (£25pp), Jewellery Making (£40pp) and Graffitti-Style Can Art (£8). All materials are included and led by a professional! A chance for people of all ages, abilities and creativeness to join a community event in the heart of the city where they can try out a new craft or discover a new hobby in our craft workshops. There are limited spaces so get your hands on them before they run out!

Makers' Market
Info: Our Makers' Market features 18 local independant artisans with their hand-crafted products. Come along and see what Aberdeen's local artisans have to offer - Support Local! Along side we will have food vendors to choose from, Maker's Tombola prize draw, free tea and coffee, a creative space corner and more!

Erskine Exhibition
Info: At The Makers’ Exchange you can hear first-hand from veterans and staff from Eskine Veterans Activity Centre North in Forres. Learn a bit about the charity while joining in some fundraising activities. Veterans' art from their projects at the Centre will be displayed with purchasing opportunities. While you're there you can help yourself to a hot drink included in your ticket and choose from our food vendors. The Makers' Corner will be a chill out cafty corner where you can get creative and leave some feedback!
