About this Event
Join us for a night of music with the Lyceum Quartet, comprised of members of the Orchestra Collective of Orange County. A string quartet is typically formed by two violins, one viola, and one cello. Shirley Chang, Karyn Haitz, Taichiroh Kanauchi, and Ryan Phipps have studied music since childhood and now teach and perform with various orchestras and ensembles throughout Orange County and Southern California.
The Lyceum Quartet will create an evening of music featuring 3 compositions. Haydn’s “Sunrise” Quartet is a classical string quartet consisting of four movements. Webern’s “Langsamer Satz” is an emotional and romantic work meaning “Slow Movement” that was inspired by a hike with the composer’s future wife. They will conclude with the first movement of Schubert’s “Death and the Maiden” String Quartet.
