The Low Line features musicians Afra Jurkiewicz and Joe Mansfield. The pair came together in 2024 to explore music traditional to the Appalachian mountains. Performing on fretless banjo and viola (both strung in special low tunings) the duo are drawn to the richness and depth of both the material as well as their instruments.
Joe is a Bristol based fiddle and viola player, best known for his project Joe& the Temperance Two, releasing their first album this autumn. Afra is a multi-instrumentalist based in Welsh Borders, performing regularly with Black Cat String Band. Expect haunting ballads, harmony vocals and hypnotic reels.
