The Lost Generation [80s + Gen X Matinee]

Gen X has been blowing up our comments saying they need their own party, so we started one. The "Lost Generation" is a new 80s-centric dance concept by Matinee Social Club, focused on celebrating the sounds of Gen X.

For this event, The Lost Generation will be making its debut at Barlume Downstairs – a ~150 guest hidden subterranean cocktail club in New York City, offering expertly crafted cocktails and bites in an intimate, late-night setting. Perfect for after-dinner drinks, date nights, or a late-night rendezvous, this underground bar is a best-kept secret for anyone looking to experience a true New York night.

What to expect?

A night of 80s & vintage pop, rock, nu wave, & disco amongst a beautiful crowd of Gen X-ers. The music will escalate by 7:00pm, pizza will be served at ~8pm and is included with your ticket.

Mostly 80s with adjacent hits from just before and after as well. Songs that defined Gen X. Inspo playlist.

80's vibes preferred. If you're not one for dressing up, no worries. Just no athletic wear or anything too casual.

Love to party, but also love a good night’s rest?With Matinée, you can have both.It’s a “night time” dance party that lets you have a wild night out…and be home by 11pm.

The party starts at 5pm (or 6pm), peaks at 8, over at 10. Oh and we serve pizza around 7:30pm to give you a second wind.

Nightlife pretty much only caters to 20 somethings. Matinée wants to change that.

We’re working to create a space where our fellow Millennials and beyond can step away from adult responsibilities and let loose for a while – creating memories with old friends and hopefully make some new ones.
