On the 18th of March 2026, Tallinn will host its first fundraising event organised by the BECC (British-Estonian Chamber of Commerce) to support His Majesty's veterans. This satellite event, for the esteemed Lord Mayor's Big Curry Lunch, aims to raise crucial funds for the growing number of Commonwealth veterans residing in Estonia and across the region.
These veterans, who have served with distinction in the Army, Navy, and Air Forces of the Commonwealth Realms, represent a legacy of dedication and sacrifice. From those who served since 1949 to those who deployed recently in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Estonia, their service is deeply valued.
This year, we are honored to begin the day with a compelling seminar on geographical security, featuring Roger McDermott, an honorary senior fellow in the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Kent at Canterbury, and a senior fellow in Eurasian Military Studies at the Jamestown Foundation, Washington, DC. Mr. McDermott specializes in defence and security issues of the former Soviet Union, providing a unique opportunity to engage with an expert on critical regional issues.
