The Little Mercies make their Kansas City debut, bringing a sound that’s impossible to forget. Bronwyn Chelette, Shanice Richards, and Rosalee Walsh — three multi-instrumentalist songwriters rooted in old-time traditions — each arrived by a different road: Appalachian ballads, Jamaican reggae, and Colorado bluegrass. The result? A rich, genre-crossing blend that’s drawn comparisons to Gillian Welch and the Carolina Chocolate Drops, with powerful harmonies, raging twin fiddles, and an energy that transforms every room they play.
Opening the night is KC’s own Kirstie Lynn, a poet-songwriter whose fingerstyle guitar and soaring vocals evoke the spirit of Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell.
Also taking the stage is Sadie Gustafson-Zook, an acclaimed songwriter known for weaving vivid imagery and storytelling into beautifully crafted melodies. With a voice often likened to Joni Mitchell, Sadie has performed at festivals across the country and earned recognition in prestigious songwriting competitions including Kerrville’s New Folk Contest and the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter Showcase.
