About this Event
The Life We Have comes to Austin!
Share a film. Move your body. Experience a story that stays with you.
Join us on Friday, March 27th for a special community gathering celebrating the healing power of movement, connection, and shared stories.
FILM
Start the evening with a screening of the moving short documentary The Life We Have, followed by a dynamic panel conversation with local advocates, co hosted by Livestrong and Texas 4000. The screening is FREE and refreshments will be provided, but space is limited.
Produced by REI Co-op Studios and Seattle-based production company Wondercamp, follows one man’s extraordinary 20-year commitment to run every single day after receiving a stage four cancer diagnosis. This 24-minute film is a powerful reflection on resilience, community, and choosing to live with beautiful effort.
RUN
Then, get out there and move. Join us after the screening for an all abilities 5K community run along Lady Bird Lake hosted by Texas 4000. Whether you run, jog, or walk, everyone is welcome.
Come for the movement, stay for the meaning — and leave connected to a community that believes in showing up for one another.
More About The Life We Have
Diagnosed with stage four cancer 20 years ago, San Antonio native Rob Shaver made a pact to run every day until he dies. The Life We Have is a quiet reflection on mortality, resilience, and the choice to live with beautiful effort.
