In 2021, Texas lawmaker Matt Krause makes a list of 850 books that he wants banned in libraries–books that predominantly focus on race and LGBTQ+ stories–ushering in a drastic wave of book bans across the country. Caught in the maelstrom of heated debates at school and library board meetings nationwide and facing increasing harassment, a group of librarians join together in the fight for their livelihoods, intellectual freedom, and democracy. This screening will be followed by a panel discussion with staff from Daniel Boone Regional Library discussing the topics and themes within the film.
