About this Event
Join us as we welcome Eleanor Reissa, Tony-nominated director, playwright, actor, singer, and author in conversation with Linda Selman, former Chair of the National Arts Club Theater Committee. Reissa, a graduate of the NYC public school system, will discuss her diverse, surprising career as a storyteller—in English, Yiddish, and now German, sharing readings from her book and plays including a film clip from her German TV series Die Zweiflers, 2024 winner at Cannes. Her memoir, The Letters Project, began when Reissa found 60 letters written in German in 1949, from her father, an Auschwitz survivor, to her mother, a Polish refugee. She received a 2024 grant from the New York State Council for the Arts to adapt her book in a play. A second season for Die Zweiflers has just been announced. Her book will be available for purchase and Reissa will be signing.
