About this Event

A panel discussion looking at the lasting impact of the US-led War on Terror. On the panel, two former Guantanamo Bay prisoners turned activists recall their time at the infamous camp, which was also home to children. An audience Q&A follows.


Speakers:

-Andy Worthington, Investigative Journalist, author of "The Guantanamo Files: The Stories of the 774 Detainees in America's Illegal Pr*son". See more of Andy's work here: https://www.andyworthington.co.uk/2023/11/

-Mansoor Adayfi, former Guantanamo detainee and Author of "Don't Forget Us Here: Lost and Found at Guantanamo". Mansoor has published several New York Times pieces and has featured on BBC radio and other media outlets.

-Moazzam Begg, outreach director at CAGE, author of "Enemy Combatant". After his release from Guantanamo Bay, he became a prominent public-speaker and Muslim advocate for justice and dialogue.

-Deepa Driver, Academic, Trade Unionist. Deepa is also a legal observer in the Assange case for the Unified European Left at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
