The Band’s historic farewell concert in 1976 dubbed THE LAST WALTZ is presented in grand style, as some of the area’s finest performers join together to play iconic songs performed by The Band, and their guests, Van Morrison, Neil Young, Emmylou Harris, Dr. John, Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan & Eric Clapton including; Rag Mama Rag, Up On Cripple Creek, Ophelia, Such A Night, Don’t Do It, Caravan, Helpless, Stage Fright, Who Do You Love, The Weight and many more.
This year marks almost 50 years since The Last Waltz was performed at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom on Thanksgiving night. Newmyer Flyer’s Last Waltz has been performed to sold out crowds around DC/MD/VA since its inception in 2012.
Newmyer Flyer is the 2nd music production company founded by Ron Newmyer, co-creator of BandHouse Gigs. Newmyer specializes in creating unique tribute shows honoring iconic artists albums and eras that showcase the great wealth of talent found throughout the area. Past performances have included The Simon & Garfunkel Songbook, Laurel Canyon: Golden Songs of Los Angeles 1966-73, Pet Sounds & Revolver, The Everly Brothers Tribute andThe Best of Janis Joplin & Jimi Hendrix among others.
