Here we go again!
Behold the Lakeland Dip, three beautiful lakes, chasing waterfalls and (hopefully) you lovely lot!
Full Itenary to be released closer to the time, but for now .. here is what you can expect:
The waterfalls: We will meet at Stonethwaite bright and early for a walk to Black moss pot. the walk is 2 miles to the pot and 2 miles back on a marked footpath with a gentle slope. (No steep and relentless uphill I promise!) The footpath is rocky underfoot In places and if you are dipping in Black moss pot, there is a climb down to enter the water. You will need a reasonable level of physical ability to get yourself in and out of the water here. We will also dip at Galleny force and in the fairy pools along the way so lots of opportunity for a cold dip.
There is a pub we can stop at for a refreshment after the walk but bring your own snacks and drinks, hopefully it will be sunny enough for a picnic lunch :)
The lakes: We have not one, two, but three lakes to enjoy! Derwent water, Bassenthwaite and Thrilmere. All scenic and too temping not to dip. We will aim to hit all three! Including a night swim.
The local area: We are staying near Keswick, a charming town with shops, cafe's and pubs galore. Not forgetting the pencil museum! We will include time to explore the town however you are welcome to and explore at your own leisure and make your own itenary.
The accommodation: A proper lake district pub stay with ensuite rooms, a roaring fire and homecooked food. There are double and twin rooms available. We will eat here in the evening, breakfast arrangements tbc.
