KOME are opening our doors to the public once again for an exciting and inspiring day of live demonstrations, educational talks and action-packed equestrian performances! Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at our core equestrian disciplines and experience the adrenaline of Trick Riding and Jousting, the beauty of Side Saddle and Liberty, the precision of Horse Archery, and the fascinating training techniques behind it all.
Whether you're a rider, an equine enthusiast, or simply curious about what we do, there truly is something for everyone!
Have-A-Go Activities (from 12pm)
The day begins with interactive experiences where you can try elements of our disciplines for yourself:
· Trick Riding vaulting barrel
· Wooden horse set up for Side Saddle
· Wooden horse for Horse Archery
Learn about different saddles and equipment, try out some basic moves under instructor guidance, and capture that perfect selfie. These activities will run throughout the day.
Demonstrations & Displays (from 1pm)
We will kick off the afternoon with a demo from our KOME Equitation membership group, followed by an exciting and informative range of displays from the professional KOME team.
We’ll take you from the rich history and foundations of each discipline through to modern professional performance, giving you a real insight “behind the curtain” into how our horses are trained and what learning with KOME looks like. Expect daring trick riders performing impressive stunt moves, the beauty and precision of Side Saddle, the focus and skill of Horse Archery and Jousting, and an introduction to Roman Riding, Liberty, and Bridleless riding.
You’ll also have opportunities throughout the day to meet the KOME horses, speak to our instructors and professional riders, and ask all your burning questions.
Timetable of activities:
12:00 - Gates open - Have A Go Activities: Trick Riding vaulting barrel, plus wooden horses set up for Side Saddle & Horse Archery. Activities will run all day.
1:00pm - KOME Equitation Showcase - Musical Ride
1.30pm - An Introduction to Side Saddle
2:00pm - Training Horses for Roman Riding
2.30pm - Horse Archery Demonstration
3:00pm - Liberty and Brideleless Demo
3:30pm - Training horses for stunt work
3:45pm - The Joust
4:00pm - Trick Riding Display
4:30pm - Q&A Session with the professionals
4.45pm - End of Event!
Opportunities to meet the KOME horses.
When purchasing tickets, please ensure you add on a car pass for any vehicle you will be bringing on site. Parking is free but limited, so please do car pool where possible!
Hot & Cold food & drinks available on site- coffee van, pizza etc.
Limited seating will be available - please bring your own camping chair if you have one!
Please no dogs allowed on site.
Child tickets available for under 12s.
Under 5s go free.
