Keith Jarrett
⟶ Köln Concert
Piano: Thomas Enhco + Maki Namekawa
_______________________________________________________
With his legendary live album The Köln Concert from 1975, Keith Jarrett proved that an improvisation can certainly last longer than a few minutes. The renowned record label ECM had to spread the recording over two LPs as Jarrett could easily improvise for a quarter of an hour on just one or two chords. Half a century later, two pianists with different backgrounds are inspired by the best-selling solo album in jazz history. Thomas Enhco from France and Maki Namekawa from Japan visited Jarrett and got his permission to play The Köln Concert in full, letting the music fluctuate between classical and jazz: Namekawa will play half of the LP 'note by note' while Enhco will improvise around the other half. This production by the Philharmonie de Paris will travel to Brussels for the very first time!
