OXUS with Nichola Cass-Beggs:This engaging and beautiful work for solo singer and string quartet is the musical boundary-crossing result of a collaboration between Elvis Costello and the Brodsky Quartet in the 1990s, inspired by the strange fact that for many years people have written letters to Juliet Capulet (even though she is both fictional and dead), and a whole industry grew up in Verona, which still exists, to answer these letters.
We are absolutely delighted to welcome back Nicholas Cass-Beggs, with whom we first performed the work in 2009, to bring this music to you in our 20th anniversary year.
