Keith Naunton is known locally in the UK gardening community as a dedicated amateur gardener. Together with his wife he has created a vibrant town garden from a small, challenging space, using a combination of hard landscaping and over 200 containers.Both Keith and his wife Verna have opened their garden and allotment for many years, supporting a number of charities the key one being the National Garden Scheme. Their garden:
o Has been recognised as an excellent example of what can be achieved in a small sloping space.
o Was selected from a field of over 200 National submissions to be included in Alan Titchmarsh’s first series of ‘Love Your Garden’.
o Has also featured in a number of Gardening magazines and this year will be featured in ‘Gardening Weekly’ and ‘Essex Life’.
o Made the final of the Daily Mail National Garden Competition.
Keith has been invited by a number of gardening groups to give talks on:
Gardening – From Seed to Bloom: Mastering the Fundamentals of Gardening.
‘The Story of The Secret Garden’ How Verna and Keith overcame the challenge of a small sloping space to create their garden.
The National Garden Scheme past and present.
Keith and Verna also work two allotments adjacent to their garden growing a wide range of vegetables and flowers. There is also a small apiary where Keith manages several colonies of bees.
