The Josh Schaffer Group will be gracing the stage on Friday bringing a variety of genres performed by some of Taipei's finest musicians. The quintet will be performing styles such as fusion, rock, funk, and some jazzy originals. Come join us for a night of unforgettable music, and don't forget to bring your instrument for Sappho Live's late night jam.

▪︎Josh Schaffer
Since graduating in December of 2012 with a Master’s in Music from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Josh Schaffer has been working and playing in Taiwan. While studying under Tom Myer (prof. saxophone at the University of Colorado Boulder), he has developed his jazz concepts out of a classical setting and has learned not only the musical nuances involved in classical performance and practice, but also has been able to bring classical and traditional jazz styles together. Since graduating he has performed with a wide array of rock and fusion groups including the Colorado-based Sweebred Band, and has led his own jazz quartet and trio. He has also played in a local Brazilian Choro ensemble, which has been a great influence on his playing style and has sparked an interest in the music of Brazil. Since moving to Taiwan Josh has had the opportunity to play with many great jazz players around Taipei and has been involved with cultural performances in Kaohsiung, Taichung, and has played at the lantern festival in Nantou.
2012畢業於科羅拉多大學博爾德分校碩士演奏文憑, Josh Schaffer畢業後來台灣擔任薩克斯風維修與演奏的工作,在校期間師承Tom Myer（科羅拉多大學博爾德分校音樂系教授）,在學習過程中開發了自己對經典爵士樂的理念及設定,並在演奏中融合古典音樂的技巧及想法,並且妥善運用。
畢業以來在科羅拉多州擔任職業演出,並參與多種不同風格的樂隊,且自己帶領爵士三重奏,四重奏,藍調以及巴西咻樂,不同風格類型的演出對Josh Schaffer有著極深的影響,讓他的演奏不僅僅是爵士樂,還廣泛地包含所有不同風格的樂種。
來到台灣之後,在這塊土地上與各路音樂好手演奏,並積極參與當地音樂創作以及演奏。

▪︎Fabio Moreira
Fabio Moreira has been learning, studying and working as a guitarist since very young age, playing many different styles of music on acoustic and electric guitar. Fabio began her training at 10 in CPV College Music in Brazil, Cacapava; his first gig at 14 with a reggae band and 1 year later with BR Connection, playing around Brazil, with an amazing combination of funk,rock,reggae and blues, giving exciting shows with full energy and original arrangements, making everyone jump around and sing along with each song they played.
Later on he got the great opportunity to play in Asia,Australia,Jamaica,Miami, Argentina, London and Taipei-Taiwan with a number of bands and professional Asian artists such as :Olivia Ong 王俪婷, Diana Wang王詩安 , Andrew Tang 陳勢安 , Lara Liang 梁心頤 , Gary Chaw 曹格 recording and playing live !
In 2012 Fabio Joined ‘Dragon Force’ a record company by Michael Tu 涂惠源, (a renowned music producer, composer and arranger of many Asian Hit songs as “Listen to the sea” (聽海) sang by the famous singer A-Mei 阿妹) to be part of SENSATION project,where Mr. Chaw (曹格) was the lead vocal.Soon enough the band started their tour in Taiwan, Singapore,Malaysia and Hong Kong. And just a few months later with the new Gary Chaw’s album “Hollywood Zoo”became a new tour: SENSATIONALLY WORLD TOUR 2013”Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur,Kuching.
In 2017 Fabio is sponsored by MOOER (an International company of Pedals and accessories for guitars) becoming a Mooer artist and a new step for Fabio on his career as a professional guitarist.
Currently Fabio lives in Taipei, Taiwan, where released his first solo album FISON, at the same time continued to play music on tours & most prestigious venues in Asia and collaborating with mainstream record lebels and artists in live performing or recording albums.

▪︎Bam Rodríguez
Bam Rodríguez 是一位葛萊美獎得主的貝斯手、作曲家、教育家、電影製作者與社會行動家。他是 Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra 的成員，並與指揮 Arturo O’Farrill 一同獲得 2022 年葛萊美最佳拉丁爵士專輯獎 (Fandango at the Wall in New York)。
他的音樂涵蓋 古典音樂、現代爵士、世界音樂、拉丁爵士與拉丁傳統，展現了少見的多元性與獨特的文化融合能力，使他成為當今世界少有的 全能型音樂家。
Bam 曾與 Chucho Valdés、Paquito de Rivera、Joe Lovano、Roy Hargrove 等傳奇音樂家合作，並隨多個國際頂尖樂團巡迴演出，足跡遍及 卡內基音樂廳、北海爵士音樂節、台北國家戲劇院 等世界級舞台。2024 年，他受邀成為 台灣兩廳院爵士音樂節 的特別嘉賓，在為期兩天的節目中演出，展現其國際地位與影響力。
Bam 出生於委內瑞拉，自幼在世界知名的 El Sistema 音樂教育體系中接受訓練，並曾與 Gustavo Dudamel 同台演出。之後，他分別畢業於 布魯塞爾皇家音樂院 與 阿姆斯特丹音樂院，取得 爵士與世界音樂雙碩士學位。自 2012 年移居紐約以來，他不僅以音樂征服全球觀眾，更積極推動教育與社會行動，創立 We Are Starting a School 計劃，為全球弱勢學生提供與紐約專業音樂家連結的免費音樂課程。

▪︎Wie Chieh (Henry)
出生於台北，胡惟捷是一位Session鍵盤手/作曲家，自幼學習鋼琴、小提琴、中提琴、吉他，並展現對音樂的濃厚興趣，於美國Juilliard school及New England Conservatory唸書期間先後與Ira Taxin, David Conte, John Manila和Michael Gandolfi等教授學習作曲。
返台後，除了古典創作之外，也積極以鍵盤手的身份參與爵士與流行演出，並多次受邀於台北及台中爵士音樂節演出，演出足跡遍佈台灣、巴黎、美國，曾任賀瓏夜夜秀、前衛搖滾團光學虎鯨鍵盤手，現為TPO踢霹歐樂團、Cinnamon Mango、台灣重擊拉丁鍵盤手。
活躍於台北各大展演空間，合作過的藝人包括黃大煒、許景淳、王大文、Whyte壞特?te、徐哲緯、Bradd李靖黌、宇宙人方Q、雷擎、粉內Fi-ne、蘇文劭、 桑尼Sonnie...等。

▪︎Hans Lin 林加恩
來自臺中，畢業於東華大學音樂系爵士組碩士班，師承林偉中老師。2017年開始學習爵士樂至今，曾經於澳門文化中心黑盒II、臺中爵士音樂節主舞台、臺北爵士音樂節、吹海風音樂節、大稻埕國際藝術節、日光海島生活節等活動演出，目前活躍於各類型展演空間，並於Sappho Live Jazz及Vinyl Decision 擔任host。
