STRIKE UP THE BAND / OPENING NIGHT PARTY OF THE EXIT ZERO JAZZ FESTIVAL
Party Begins at 6:30pm / $150 Per Person
(Includes a $100 donation to the Cape May Jazz Festival Foundation per Ticket)
Kick off the Exit Zero Jazz Festival Weekend at the Cape May Jazz Festival Foundation Opening Night Party with a pre-concert complimentary glass of bubbly, a nibble or two, and an incredible Live Auction / silent auction.
Then sit back, relax, and enjoy a world class jazz performance by the JOHN PIZZARELLI SWING SEVEN.
When the curtain goes up on another edition of the Exit Zero Jazz Festival, all eyes will no doubt be on the incomparable musicians on stage. The schedule celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Festival is a veritable who’s who of musical heavyweights: Grammy award-winning soulful vocalists Angelique Kidjo and Gregory Porter, All-Star Philly Jawn, José James, Chief Adjuah - just to name but a few of the jazz luminaries.
But despite the obvious star power, it’s the Cape May Jazz Festival Foundation’s educational initiatives in Cape May County schools that take center stage.
In 2023, this work is as essential as ever. As music educators begin this school year, they face some extremely daunting challenges as they attempt to re-engage students in extra-curricular activities in a post-covid environment. This is where you can have an impact.
Launched back in 2015, Music Connects, the educational outreach of the Cape May Jazz Festival Foundation, provides students in Cape May County and beyond the opportunity to not only attend performances by internationally acclaimed artists during the Exit Zero Jazz Festival, but also to engage in the year round educational and cultural initiatives by participating in the Music Connects Big Band, enjoying the Artist in the Schools residencies - this year featuring international touring jazz trumpeter Alphonso Horne and Zydeco artist Terrance Simien - the Music Connects Krewe, which provides students with hands on experience in music, sound and stage production - a veritable arts vocational program, the only one in Cape May County.
Please join the Cape May Jazz Festival Foundation as we STRIKE UP THE BAND for Cape May County students of all ages.
The Cape May Jazz Festival Foundation is a New Jersey 501 (c) (3) non profit.
