The Jazzettes USA - Erika Paul (piano/vocals), Julie Machado (bass/vocals) and Cami Thompson (percussion/vocals) - are excited to be performing 2 shows at the Idlewild Folk Fest on Saturday, June 6th, at 2:30 and 3:30pm. We have been performing for over a year now in schools and libraries around Northern Nevada to share the joy of jazz through its history. We are one of many performers who are working with the Reno Philharmonic's "Discover Music" program - an educational outreach initiative that sends small ensembles of 2 to 5 symphony musicians to local schools, libraries, and community centers in Northern Nevada. It features interactive performances, instrument demonstrations, and participatory activities designed to introduce audiences of all ages to symphonic music.
We'll be performing this show twice at the park.
This will be a wonderful all-afternoon event, from 12pm till 6pm.
Here is their post:
"Folk Fest America 250 is a vibrant, multicultural celebration honoring the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. Come on out and join us for a powerful gathering where living histories come alive through music, storytelling, art, and performance."
Experience the rich cultural contributions of Native American, Asian, African American, Basque, Muslim, Hispanic/Latinx, and many other communities whose voices, traditions, and resilience have shaped Northern Nevada."

The Jazzettes USA will have two 1/2-hour performances, one at 2:30-3:00pm, and another at 3:30-4:00pm, presenting a storyline of the history of Jazz in America.
This is more than a festival—it’s a celebration of identity, heritage, music and the stories that connect us all.
