About this Event

The Irish in Camden
President Ronald Regan once said, “The blessed St Patrick we are told was born on this day (17th March) in the year of our lord 461, only the Irish could have a wake for over 1500 years.”.

My tour focusses on the 1950’s wave of Irish, that came over to helped rebuild London after the war. You will hear about McAlpine’s Fusiliers, my church, a Legendary Pub, a Halfway House, a Dance Hall riot, Spike Milligan & the Irish spirit that still makes Camden a Music Mecca. Spike Milligan, Dickens & Father Dougal feature too!
