About this Event
IGS September: The Intersection of Forensic Science and Mental Health with Dr. Leon Kelly
Join us for an exclusive INHERENT Gentlemen’s Society event featuring Dr. Leon Kelly, a board-certified forensic pathologist and the Coroner/Chief Medical Examiner of El Paso County. With over 5,000 autopsies to his name, Dr. Kelly is a recognized expert in forensic pathology, forensic toxicology, and strangulation. Beyond his medical expertise, he has made significant contributions to mental health advocacy, co-founding the Teen Suicide Prevention Working Group and leading initiatives such as the Mantherapy.org campaign aimed at reducing suicide among men. As the Board Chair of NAMI Colorado Springs, Dr. Kelly’s dedication to de-stigmatizing mental health and improving access to care is a testament to his commitment to community well-being.
This event aligns with our mission at INHERENT Gentlemen Society by offering insights into how understanding Dr. Kelly's work in both forensic pathology and mental health advocacy provides invaluable lessons on resilience, self-awareness, and the importance of mental wellness. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges our communities face and how we, as individuals and leaders, can take proactive steps to foster a brighter, healthier future for all.
