About this Event
Session Description
What do an 85-year-old Quaker author, podcast luminary Tim Ferriss, and a New York cocktail bar have in common? These three things, along with a myriad of others, helped sew the seeds that birthed a cocktail education business and provided the clarity and internal fuel required to sustain it.
During this talk, I'll cover the road that led to the formation of my cocktail business, tell you what I offer and where I see things being headed, but more importantly, and hopefully, how this talk will feel more relatable to you, is I'll cover what I've learned as being necessary to sustain a business and the entrepreneur who has to keep going for it to function.
I'll throw in some funny stories about booze and who knows what else, but owning a business for me has been about discovering what it takes to stay motivated to get up and charge into what feels like oblivion day after day because it is hard to imagine doing anything else.
About the Presenter
Chris LeBeau is one of those notable career pivots you read about or may have lived. After working in strategic planning and marketing capacities for healthcare providers, consultancies, banks, and nonprofits, he now runs a cocktail education company.
Decoding Cocktails was born out of Chris's long-time interest in mixology which blossomed as he refined a process of simplifying mixology that made it accessible and exciting for enthusiasts. Fast forward five years and he has now taught thousands of people about the craft, works with bars and restaurants to improve their programs, and is an ambassador for the spirit company Spiribam, which carries a wonderful array of Chris's favorite spirit, rum.
