About Norma-Jean Young
Norma Jean Young weaves the world’s greatest teachings into everyday life. A pioneer in Integral Medicine, her groundbreaking work has shaped institutions like Harvard HMO, Massachusetts General Hospital, and the University of Washington’s School of Nursing, where she integrated Complementary Treatment methods into the curriculum. Guided by mentors such as Phyllis Lei Furumoto, the World Grand Master of Reiki, and Professor Rustum Roy, mentor to Deepak Chopra, her teachings and healing have touched lives across 13 countries.
Her servant leadership spans continents, from supporting lepers in Indonesia and Inuit women in Greenland to working with Sister Lucy Kurien in India, caring for communities in need. Rooted in the bodhisattva vow, she draws wisdom from Tibetan Buddhist leader Her Eminence Dagmola Kusho Sakya and carries forward the cultural healing work inspired by Great Grandmother Vi Hilbert of the Upper Salish People.
Now embracing her role as a Grandmother-Healer, Norma Jean focuses on cultural reconciliation, championing causes like the Apology to the Duwamish Tribe and fostering community healing in her hometown of Mount Vernon.
