(IEMC) is a 4-day training activity.
About this Event
COURSE DESCRIPTION The Integrated Emergency Management Course (IEMC) is a 4-day, exercise-based training activity for Emergency Operations Center (EOC) personnel AND community partners involved with incident response and recovery, to practice simulated but realistic emergency situations within a structured learning environment. A team of community planners and Emergency Operations Center (EMI) staff will work together to design a training agenda that includes classroom facilitated lectures and hands-on discussion-based and operations-based exercises consistent with HSEEP.
TARGET AUDIENCE The IEMC is designed for personnel who perform emergency support responsibilities within their community.
• Elected and appointed officials
• Senior level personnel from response agencies
• Leaders or representatives from volunteer organizations
• Representatives from private agencies that support emergency response
COURSE GOALS The IEMC will build the inter-dependent awareness, leadership, and communication skills needed to develop, refine, and implement policies, plans, procedures and mutual aid agreements in a ‘whole community’ EOC environment. Community participants will gain a better understanding of the needs of their community before, during and after a disaster.
