About this Event

This event is an opportunity for Early Years Professionals to join us for a varity of engaging workshops designed for Early Years Professionals dedicated to fostering robust communication and language development in early childhood.

Ben Kingston-Hughes our key note speaker makes a compelling argument that play is a fundamental building block for every aspect of well-being and development. Ben will explore the vital role of Play in developing and growing children’s brains, highlighting the profound importance of play for brain growth, wellbeing and even life expectancy.

Ofsted is the Government Department that inspects and regulates services for learners and children in England. Ofsted will be joining us to discuss the curriculum for communication and language.

Becky Evans is an advisory teacher with extensive experience working in Newham. Personal, Social and Emotional Development are the three building blocks of future success in life. This helps to support children’s development by helping them to interact effectively and develop positive attitudes to themselves and others. Developing an understanding of the key features of effective adult-child interactions will provide practical ideas and strategies to support PSED in the early years.

Gareth Cotterel has worked in Early Years for 15 years. His current role is as a Primary School Assistant Head Teacher with responsibility for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

He lectures on Early Years, particularly on school readiness and transition.

Practitioners will explore school readiness and what pre-schools can do to ensure children are ready for school. Current Early Years practice and what the baby room learning environment could look like will also be explored.
