The Importance of Being Earnest By Oscar Wilde
Subtitled "A Trivial Comedy for Serious People," the play follows two witty gentlemen, Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff, who both lead double lives to escape the burden of social obligations. Chaos ensues when they both fall in love with women who are solely devoted to marrying a man named "Ernest." It is a fast-paced satire of Victorian high society, filled with mistaken identities, cucumber sandwiches, and the most famous handbag in literary history.
