About the Programme
In an ageing society with an increasing prevalence of mental health challenges and people living with dementia, more people are required to step up as caregivers, and many are unprepared.
The challenges of a caregiver can be very overwhelming. Caregivers often experience heightened stress, anxiety, and depression due to the emotional demands of their role. Many become burnt out and suffer from depression. The impacts on the caregiver are both emotional and physical.
Therefore, it is important to attend to the needs of the caregiver and support them with a social network which provides resources and caregiver support. Caregivers need respite and have to learn self-care to sustain their long journey of caregiving.
In this talk you can learn:
1. What am I expected to do as a caregiver
2. Understand causes of burnout
3. Understand emotional and psycho-social needs of your loved ones
4. Prevent and manage caregiver burnout
5. Overcome the guilt of self-care
Sign up now and start your self-care!
