Cheryl Schiltz lives in Madison, Wisconsin where with great joy she spends time with her family and many friends. She absolutely loves photography, hiking, writing and public speaking. Her motto is “Let your light shine.”
Lisa Malawski resides in Wisconsin. She has always had a passion for writing since she was a young girl and is also an avid book reader. Lisa published her first book titled When the Mountains Call You in July of 2023. She is working on her second book, There is No Mountain Higher Than This. Lisa’s book journey has landed her a spot on WORT 89.9 FM as a host of Madison Book Beat which is a radio show where she interviews and engages with local authors or authors coming to town.
Meetra was born in Madison, WI on a cold day in November in 1989. She was born with Spina Bifida Myelomeningocele, L5 S1, the most severe form of the birth defect & Hydrocephalus.
Growing up, she was raised just like her brother to try her best, to push herself & to not say she couldn't do something unless she tried it as least 2x. She was met with many challenges right from the beginning, starting with emergency brain surgery to place a shunt in her brain to help drain the fluid cause by hydrocephalus as well as repair the damage caused by the opening in her back from SB. From there, the growing process began! She learned to finally walk with braces & assistance at age 2 years old & continued walking with the aide of leg AFO's & a walker for a few years. Given she had a stubborn nature from the beginning, she was determined to make the most out of life.
Once she entered school, she was met with another difficult challenge, bullying. She endured approximately 4-5 years of grueling bullying from her peers until she stood up to them in her sophomore year of high school. From there, she paved the way for her future passion, disability awareness & adaptive fitness. In any given obstacle, there is always a way to adapt & rise above the many challenges life throws at us.
Scott spent most of his life growing up in the town of Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York, and has had an appreciation for Theodore Roosevelt since he was a kid. He used to visit Sagamore Hill, the home of Theodore Roosevelt on elementary school field trips, and the interest continued throughout his adult life.
Scott is not only a collector of Theodore Roosevelt memorabilia but is also an avid collector of antique phonographs and Thomas Edison ephemera and has given talks on the subject.
