About this Event
The Hollow Light - Blackpool BFI Film Academy Short Film Screening
6:30pm
Thursday 29th March
The ARC Cinema, FY1 4EN
Claire is confined to a crumbling shell of a home with a stranger. In a house marked with faded slogans - remnants of hope long since soured - the pair rely on each other for support, safety and survival. Will their efforts be in vain?
Come along for a screening of The Hollow Light, a short film crafted over 5 months by this year's Blackpool BFI Film Academy participants. From camera operation to sound recording, art department to editing, they’ve done it all with the help of our Film Academy staff.
Accompanying the film will be a short ‘behind the scenes’ documentary that looks at moments from the filmmaking journey from BFI Film Academy cohorts in Blackpool, Barrow-in-Furness, Liverpool, Manchester and Rochdale. The screening will also be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers, where they will be discussing their creative process and the journey from script to screen!
Tickets - Pay What You Can (Free to £10)
Great film should be for everyone, and nobody should have to struggle to experience the magic of cinema. That's why Blackpool Film Festival offers a range of ticket prices for our events, making cinema affordable for everyone.
Everyone is welcome to attend our Pay What You Can (PWYC) events and pay… whatever you can. Free, £2.50, £5, £10 – whatever you can afford to give, that’s what the tickets cost for that event. You simply choose the price that works best for you from a range of options.
There are a limited number of PWYC tickets. Once a particular price option has sold out, you won’t be able to purchase tickets at that price, and the list of amounts you can decide between may change.
BFI Film Academy
Aunty Social has been working in partnership with HOME, Manchester to deliver one of five North West Film Academies. Academy participants have had the opportunity to learn filmmaking skills from industry professionals, gain knowledge of the film industry through in-person and online sessions, and work together to develop and produce their own short film.
