Due to a week of heavy rainfall, The Timbers of Shorewood Senior Living has changed the format of its highly anticipated Hippity-Hop Easter Egg Hunt. To ensure the safety and comfort of all guests and residents, the traditional outdoor egg hunt will be replaced with a drive-up Easter bunny greeting. The Hippity-Hop Easter Bunny Lane Drive Up will take place from noon to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 4. The Easter Bunny will be stationed outside the Timbers of Shorewood main entrance, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood, to greet families in their vehicles.
As part of this modified celebration, the Easter Bunny and Timbers staff will hand out Easter eggs filled with candy directly to children through car windows.
“While we are disappointed that the outdoor grounds are too saturated for our traditional lawn hunt and petting zoo, we didn’t want the weather to keep us from hopping into the fun,” said Sheila Albor, director of marketing at the Timbers of Shorewood. “Our seniors and staff are excited to change to this drive-up format so we can still share a smile, a wave, and some treats with our neighbors in a safe, dry way.”
Families are encouraged to follow the directional signs upon entering the Timbers' campus to join the drive-up line. The event remains free and open to the public.
The Timbers of Shorewood Senior Living is a rental retirement community that provides senior independent living and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services.
