About this Event
For the next installment in our seminar series Victorina González Díaz, will present a seminar exploring the APU Language Surveys Archive. A unique collection of children’s spoken and written language gathered by the UK government’s Assessment of Performance Unit (1974–1988), prior to the introduction of the National Curriculum.
The talk will introduce the rich range of materials contained within the archive and reflect on their importance for heritage, education and social history. Drawing on ongoing preservation and research work at the University of Liverpool, the seminar will examine how the archive preserves the voices, experiences and perspectives of young people in recent British history.
