About this Event
Singer/songwriter, sacred space facilitator, and cook holds The Healing Feast every month to share nurturing, globally-inspired food that is mindful of the earth, along with practices to help us embody joy, healing, creativity, and abundance.
This month's focus on the theme of Dancing with the Divine Masculine is a Summer Solstice and Father's Day celebration to explore healthy expressions of masculinity, and embrace the generative aspects of the divine masculine latent in spirituality, nature, and culture. Our featured facilitators will be:
, poet, performer, event faciltiator, community builder, carpenter, and host of the land on which we gather, Forrest creates life-giving, liberating spaces in particular places.
, rap coach, musician, edutainer, personal trainer, and founder of Expand Your Expression with a talent for guiding people to tap into unknown resevoirs of creative power.
, tinker, poet, painter, and goof, Jim embraces the arechtype of the Old Fool. He reminds us to burn brightly and life at full volume,e for this will all be over way too fast.
Menu: Sun-Ripened Solstice Dinner of Grilled Shwarma Skewers with beef & veggie or vegan portobello options, lemon rice, and hummus tahini sauce, plus a dessert of Padre Strawberry Shortcake (w/ vegan and gluten free options!)
Tickets: Sliding scale tickets are $22-$66, and child tickets are $7. Tickets are available in advance or at the event while supplies last, but sometimes we sell out! Ticket prices are a few dollars more on the day of the event. Free tickets are also available for people with financial constraints and/or who feel they can best contribute to this event in other, non-monetary ways. Times: Doors open and interactive warm-up activites begin at 4:30; ceremonial opening at dinner at 5:00 pm; participatory creative experience 6:00-8:30 pm.
Location & Host: The Hejkal Homestead, 5780 West Liberty Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. This will be an outdoor event and we suggest you bring a picnic blanket, lawn chairs, hats, and sunglasses. We will hold the event rain or shine, but in the event of extreme storms, we will update this page and social media platforms with an alternate location.
Benefit: 10% of all proceeds raised will be donated to Neutral Zone in Ann Arbor, a transformative, youth-driven community where youth embrace their power, ignite their creativity, and launch their future to build equity, justice, and collective liberation.
