About this Event
The Happiness of the Katakuris is mental. We don't really think there is any other way of describing this mad flick. We have shown a few weird films this year but this may take the award for weirdest...
A mixture of comedy, horror with a few musical tropes thrown in, this genre bending Japanese film follows the Katakuri family as they move to open a guest house in a rural area of the mountains (first horror trope). Guests keep mysteriously dying, and the family bury them all in the back garden to avoid suspicion and to ensure things continue to run smoothly.
Combining claymation and actual film, this film indulges wonderfully in the weird. Think Sound of Music, but Japanese, and weirder, and funnier...
As always, ticket holders are privy to some insane drink deals and popcorn!
THE FILM STARTS AT 8PM PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY SO YOU CAN GET A DRINK BEFORE WE PRESS PLAY
