Join us for a very special evening where we’ll be joined by the fabulous Deborah Frances-White for our first episode of The Guilty Feminist X Waterstones Book Club. Deborah will be joined by Suzie Miller to discuss her debut novel Prima Facie, alongside her chosen classic Fear of Flying by Erica Jong.
Brilliantly adapted by Miller from her own internationally successful stage play, Prima Facie focuses on an altruistic working-class barrister who finds herself unexpectedly facing the full force of patriarchal power.
Fear of Flying by Erica Jong is a modern classic that changed the way we thought about sex. We follow compulsive daydreamer Isadora Wing, as she ditches her second husband to criss-cross her way across Europe in search of the perfect no-strings-attached tryst. Witty, fearless and exuberant, Fear of Flying remains as sensational today as when it was first published.
Deborah Frances-White is the 2016 Writers’ Guild Award Winner for Best Radio Comedy for her hit BBC Radio 4 series Deborah Frances-White Rolls the Dice. She is an Edinburgh Fringe regular, a screenwriter and is hugely in demand for her corporate seminars. The Guilty Feminist is an award winning podcast, named by Apple as one of their Best Listens of 2019, names Best Lifestyle and Culture Podcast in 2019 at the Pod Bible Podcast Awards and awarded Gold by the British Podcast Awards in 2020.
