We're excited to invite you to the Chrisp Street Screenings - a free to attend pop up cinema showing a range of films from family friendly classics to date night blockbusters that have been voted for by the community.
About the Film: The Gruffalo (rating: U)
Film start time: 12.15pm
Animation based on the classic children's picture book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, telling the magical tale of a mouse who takes a walk through the woods in search of a nut. Encountering three predators who all wish to eat him - a fox, an owl and a snake - the plucky mouse has to use his wits to survive. About the Screenings: How to book
We have a number of places available to book in advance please register for your free tickets on this page. There will be places available for walk-ins so please come down, even if you don't have a ticket - there is very good chance you'll get a seat.
If you book, and are no longer able to make it then please cancel your tickets so someone else can book.
Please arrive at the Screen area 15 minutes before the official start time so you can be seated in good time. If you arrive any later then your ticket may be given to someone else.
Food and drink
You're welccome (.. encouraged!) to pick up your favourite treats, food and drinks from local Chrisp Street businesses and bring them into the screening area. Please do take your rubbish home with you, or put in the bin.
About the Chrisp Street Summer Series
Taking place from May to the end of August 2024, this event series celebrates Poplar's culture, creative and amazing community. From film screenings, to dance and music performances, including from local community groups, to creative workshops this is not a series to miss.
