A night of folk music with funds going to George Street Community Bookshop.Join us for an evening of contemporay folk music headlined by West Yorkshire-based three piece the Greyhounds and supported by Glossop close harmony singers Rum Baba .
The Greyhounds will be performing from their unique canon of original narrative songs and their programme will include music from Opal's Comet, a commissioned song cycle which toured as part of Calderdale’s Year of Culture 2024.
They are playing a limited number of warm up shows ahead of their appearance at the Anne Lister Festival Candlelit Concert at Halifax Minster in April.
Reduced priced Early Bird tickets are available up to and including Valentine's Day!
Proceeds from the gig will go towards George Street Community Bookshop .
NB The show will finish before 10.30pm to allow people to catch the last train.
Fragile and fluid, The Greyhounds recharge the immediacy of folk music with their unique canon of original, narrative songs.
“Such artistry is a pleasure to see…it was just beautiful” Esther Ferry-Kennington Todmorden Folk Festival Director.
“…transfixed by the mix of modern keys, cello and Sonya’s voice which acts as both songstress and story teller…it was a really beautiful set” ‘Even the Stars’ independent music reviewer at Head for the Hills, Ramsbottom Festival.
