The most significant service of the Christian year, this dramatic liturgy leads us from the darkness of Good Friday and Holy Saturday into the light of Christ’s resurrection. We begin in the courtyard with the Service of Light (kindling the new fire and lighting the Paschal candle), then move into the darkened church by candlelight for the Service of Lessons, baptisms and confirmations (when offered), and the first Eucharist of Easter.The St. Paul’s, Ivy Parish Choir will sing psalms and anthems, and the organ will proclaim the resurrection in blazing glory, followed by triumphant Easter hymns. A reception in the Parish Hall follows the service.
Please note: the service lasts about two hours. Incense will be used, and nursery care will not be provided.
