About this Event
The Great Pi Challenge: Code, make, or 3D Print a digital Pi Bit creation!
Join us this Thursday evening for an exciting and hands-on event where you can unleash your creativity and love for all things Pi! Whether you're a seasoned coder or a complete beginner, this event is perfect for anyone who wants to relax after work, have fun and make a digital creation. Hosted at The Exchange at the Fabrication Lab, Marylebone, this Thursday, Feb 08, 17:30 - 22:00, this in-person event promises to be a delightful experience that will leave you with a unique digital masterpiece.
The Great Pi Challenge is a series of creative-making workshops taking place over three weeks at The Exchange. We are serving Pi in 3.14 ways: Pi Pots, Pi Bits, and Pi Bots. You can either take your creations away with you or enter them for The Great Pi Challenge Exhibition and Competition opening on Pi Day, March 14. There are some great prizes on offer for the lucky winners! You might also want to submit prototypes (.14 of a project...) for larger Pi-based creations to be built with support from experts in the Fabrication Lab to be exhibited in this year's CREATECH '24 held in Ambika P3 in September.
In this week's workshop, you'll have the opportunity to design and craft your very own Pi Bits using code or other digital tools, supplemented where possible by a 3D print from the Lab's Print Farm. Our expert team will be there to guide you through the process, providing tips and tricks to help you bring your vision to life. Whether you want to create a traditional Pi-based code or let your imagination run wild with boundary-breaking inspiration, the choice is yours!
Not only will you get to release and indulge in your artistic side, you can also relax, socialise, network, and exchange ideas. The Exchange provides a well-stocked bar serving non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, bar snacks and pizza to order, with the opportunity to play various indoor games after the event, including ping pong, darts, VR, Mario Kart, board games, and others.
So, mark your calendars and prepare for a fun-filled evening at The Exchange at the Fabrication Lab, Marylebone. Don't miss out on this opportunity to show off your digital skills and take home a one-of-a-kind Pi Bits creation.
Attendance for this week’s event is free, and we welcome the opportunity to exchange ideas with guests external to the University of Westminster. Booking through Eventbrite is essential, however, as you will need to show your Eventbrite e-ticket at reception to gain access to the venue.
Ticket numbers are limited. Please book early to avoid disappointment and join us for an unforgettable evening! ?
