Join us as we read F. Scott Fitzgerald's American classic in its entirety. Over the course of the evening, volunteers will take shifts reading aloud as a crowd silently follows along. All ages are welcome and everyone is encouraged to volunteer to read no matter their background or public speaking experience. Costumes befitting of the Jazz Age are encouraged! Reading will commence at 5:30 p.m. and conclude once the last sentence has been uttered (we estimate that will be around midnight). Volunteers will read 3-4 pages at a time. Attendees will be free to move about the bookstore as they wish, but there will be an intermission for those who want to use the restrooms or purchase beverages or snacks without missing any part of the reading. The café will be open all night to keep the party alive with themed drinks.
If you are interested in reading aloud at the event, send an email with "Gatsby" in the subject line to [email protected].
