About this Event
Australian writers are enjoying global popularity on a scale never seen before. And for a country who only a couple of short decades ago was infamous for its cultural cringe, we Aussies truly love reading books set in our own backyard, or written by those whose voices feel like ours.
Out books are being made into movies and TV shows by some of the world’s best producers, such as Liane Moriarty with Big Little Lies and Sally Hepworth with The Mother-In-Law. And with stories from The Yield and The Dry, Boy Swallows Universe to Jasper Jones, The Book Thief to Any Ordinary Day, Australian writers are on the up.
Join author Ally Blake as she hosts this unique and special one off book club for lovers of Australian authors and books to come together to listen and discuss some favourite reads.
Presented as part of the Lord Mayor's Writers in Residence series.
