The Grand FinaleIf you liked the LAST TANGO IN GAINESVILLE, you’ll love THE GRAND FINALE on May 1 & 2. It’s the last roundup, a classic reunion of old Gainesvillians from the sixties, seventies and beyond.
Friday evening, Wil Maring & Robert Bowlin will strut their stuff on Heartwood’s inside stage from 7-8:30 p.m.. Tickets are required & only 125 seats are available so procrastinators will be left crying in their beer.
Wil Maring and Robert Bowlin bring together a rare blend of songwriting depth, instrumental mastery, and lived-in authenticity. Maring is a gifted songwriter and expressive vocalist whose emotive delivery and thoughtful lyrics draw equally from folk, country, and Americana traditions. Bowlin, who has the distinction of being Bill Monroe’s last fiddle player, is a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist, renowned for his fluid, inventive fiddle and guitar playing. Together, their talents complement one another beautifully. Maring’s narrative songwriting and warm stage presence anchored by Bowlin’s outstanding musicianship and deep roots knowledge create performances that are both intimate and musically invigorating.
