The Good Bad is nothing new, yet still remains one of those under-the-radar NorCal gems. Formed in San Francisco in 2010, the lineup has evolved while maintaining the bedrock of what this quintet is built upon: High-level musicianship, visionary arrangements and an unwavering commitment to fun. Progressive and traditional bluegrass mingle seamlessly like peanut butter and chocolate. They’ve made some magical memories here at the Crazy Horse going back to the late teens and we’re all excited to see how the story continues.
Over the past 15 years, The Good Bad have shared stages with The Brothers Comatose, The Lil Smokies, Front Country and Della Mae. They’ve toured Europe and played prestigious festival like Winter Wondergrass. While original songwriting is the emphasis, you might walk away dumbstruck by their jamgrass reinventions of classic hits like “Sweet Child ‘O Mine” and “Stayin’ Alive.” Honey-drenched, multi-part harmonies are a calling card, as they should be with any bluegrass band worth its salt. This high-octane string music will have the place spinning and jumping like Tiajuana on the Fourth of July.
