The Global Conference on Substance Use, Addiction, Suicide & Mental Resilience

The Global Conference on Substance Use, Addiction, Suicide, and Mental Resilience (ACGC-SASMR-2024) stands as a beacon of collaboration and commitment to fostering holistic wellness within our communities. With the theme "Navigating Paths to Wellness," our conference underscores the imperative of exploring comprehensive, culturally sensitive approaches to address the intricate challenges of substance use, addiction, suicide, and mental health.

Rooted in the belief that wellness extends beyond the absence of illness, our platform brings together diverse voices, experiences, and expertise to collectively navigate the complex terrain of holistic well-being. We are dedicated to dismantling stigma, understanding cultural nuances, and forging innovative solutions that empower individuals within the African Canadian communities. Join us on this transformative journey as we strive to pave inclusive, informed, and resilient paths to wellness for a healthier future.

Theme: Navigating Paths to Wellness

"Navigating Paths to Wellness," reflects our commitment to exploring holistic approaches for a healthier future.

Problem Statement:

In the African Canadian communities, the intricate web of substance use, addiction, suicide, and mental health challenges has created a multifaceted barrier to achieving holistic wellness. Cultural nuances, historical factors, and systemic inequities intersect to amplify the complexity of these issues, underscoring the pressing need for tailored interventions. The current fragmented approach to addressing substance use, addiction, and mental health fails to adequately consider the unique dynamics of this community, hindering the development of effective pathways to wellness.

The lack of a comprehensive strategy not only perpetuates the stigma surrounding mental health but also impedes individuals' ability to seek and access appropriate support. Recognizing the urgency of this matter, the ACGC-SASMR-2024 conference is convened to address these gaps. By bringing together diverse perspectives, experiences, and expertise, the conference aims to dissect the root causes, cultural implications, and systemic challenges associated with substance use, addiction, suicide, and mental health within the African Canadian context. Through collaborative efforts, we seek to forge new paths to wellness that are culturally informed, community-driven, and holistically transformative, laying the groundwork for a healthier future.

Mission:

The mission of the Global Conference on Substance Use, Addiction, Suicide, and Mental Resilience is to provide a dynamic platform for dialogue, collaboration, and learning. We are committed to addressing the complex challenges of substance use, addiction, suicide, and promoting mental resilience within the African Canadian community. Through shared knowledge and experiences, we aspire to foster a culture of understanding, support, and holistic well-being.

Vision:

Our vision is to create a transformative space where individuals, professionals, and communities come together to navigate paths to wellness. We envision a future where there is increased awareness, reduced stigma, and enhanced support systems for those affected by substance use, addiction, and mental health issues in the African Canadian context. Through our collective efforts, we aim to inspire positive change and contribute to the overall health and resilience of our community.

Objectives:

1. Knowledge Exchange:

Facilitate a robust exchange of knowledge and information on the latest developments, research, and best practices related to substance use, addiction, suicide, and mental resilience.

2. Community Empowerment:

3. DE stigmatization:

Work towards destigmatizing substance use, addiction, and mental health issues within the African Canadian community through open and inclusive discussions that promote understanding and empathy.

4. Network Building:
