The Glass Hours are American songwriters Megan Barbera and Brad Armstrong — a duo whose music feels both grounded and expansive, shaped by Megan’s Colorado mountain roots and Brad’s deep Southern upbringing in Birmingham, Alabama. The two met in New York’s Hudson Valley in the summer of 2022 and immediately began writing and performing together. That spark turned into their self-titled debut album, recorded the following spring and released in March 2024 on Cornelius Chapel Records. The album quickly drew attention from Americana UK, The Bluegrass Situation, and Americana Highways, marking The Glass Hours as a duo to watch in the Americana/Country Folk world.
Their momentum carried them to NYC’s Underwater Sunshine Festival, curated by Adam Duritz of Counting Crows, and onto two self-booked national tours in 2024. While crisscrossing the country, they began writing what would become their second album.
Their upcoming release, Chapel Glass, was recorded in November 2024 at Dial Back Sound in Water Valley, Mississippi. Co-produced, engineered, and mixed by Clay Jones (Al Green, Modest Mouse), the album features Matt Patton (Drive-By Truckers, Laura Jane Grace) on bass and Jason Lucia (Blue Mountain, Galactic Engineers) on drums. Chapel Glass is set for release September 19, 2025.
At its heart, The Glass Hours blend mountain clarity with Southern soul — harmony-driven songs, thoughtful lyrics, and the kind of chemistry that only comes from artists who truly found each other at the right moment.
Join us for an intimate evening of Americana storytelling and beautifully crafted songs at The Blue Door — exactly the kind of music that belongs in a listening room.
