Without Willow | How I Became A Wave | Quentin Cooper & Floriane Blancke
Now in it’s 9th year The Ghostlight Sessions is one of the country's longest running established original emerging music nights. Each night features 3 30 minute sets performed by some of Ireland’s best new musical talent. So come along and discover your next new favourite artist!
Acclaimed Donegal acoustic singer songwriter duo Without Willow are known for their hauntingly beautiful vocals and intricate guitar work. Drawing from acoustic folk, country and singer-songwriter influences, Karen Kelly and Simon McCafferty create music that feels both deeply personal and refreshingly authentic.
How I Became A Wave is the solo project of Cork-based artist Pat Carey, formerly of the acclaimed indie band, The Hard Ground. Blending literary and natural world influences with lush strings and steel pedal guitars, the music of How I Became A Wave speaks to the soul through considered lyrics and quietly rousing melodies.
Named in the Irish Independent’s Ones to Watch for 2026, How I Became A Wave’s forthcoming debut album features contributions from some of Ireland’s most respected musicians, including Carey’s former Hard Ground bandmates Davie Ryan and Hugh Dillon, pianist Rory McCarthy, cellists Laura McFadden and Aoife Burke, and multi instrumentalist Brian Casey, among others.
Quentin Cooper and Floriane Blancke’s music is a sound made from harp, guitars, piano and singing that experiments with their French and Peruvian roots. It also incorporates aspects of blues, rock, latin and jazz to influence their original songs and instrumental pieces. With exceptional musicianship and a spirited,
playful energy, this remarkable duo delivers an unforgettable musical journey both invigorating and soul-stirring.
