🕺 March Lessons
Eastcoast 1:
𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬:
• Thomas Olvera
• Alexandra Guiterrez
𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: This 6-count dance is where it all starts! This class is available every Monday night. East Coast 1 is perfect if you are new to swing dancing and want to begin your dance journey. This class will cover the main fundamentals of swing dancing such as basic posture, pulsing, weight transferring & core engagement.
Solo Jazz:
𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫:
• Sheri Tate
𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Solo Jazz consists of individual style moves that can be done by a single person. You might be wondering, why learn Solo Jazz? As we say here at ACSR, a good solo dancer makes a great partner dancer and while it is traditional to learn swing dancing through partnership, it is also highly beneficial to add Solo Jazz to your repertoire. Solo Jazz offers you the opportunity to challenge your individual abilities. Because Solo Jazz focuses on individuality, you may find yourself overcoming physical limitations you may not have noticed in partner dancing. Because of this, Solo Jazz is greatly encouraged in our community and this is your opportunity to learn!
Lindy Hop 1:
𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬:
• Gilbert Carrizales
• Andrea Deaton
𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Lindy Hop 1 is journey into 8 count style swing dancing. It is the most popular style of swing dancing next to Eastcoast & Collegiate Shag. In Lindy Hop 1, you learn fundamentals like basic weight transferring, pulsating, partner connection & traveling. To prepare for this course, we greatly encourage having taken Eastcoast (levels 1 or 2) beforehand.
NOTE: While ACSR provides a variety of lessons from many talented instructors, our classes can only offer you so much. If you are looking to become a better dancer, whether it's for the purpose of just being a better dancer or to even potentially teach lessons yourself in the future, you must contribute a great deal to the learning process. This may include, self practice several times a day, getting more familiarized with swing music, going or hosting practice sessions, attending other classes from different organizations, and attending other events. The instructors who provided lessons each week all started at the same level, with little to no experience. Their passion & drive for the dance is how our instructors came to possessing the knowledge & talent they have today. Their love for swing dance is what drives them to share that passion with all of you. So practice when you can and attend other events and lessons! We promise you will get the results you are looking for!
